Artisan Precast Walls & Fences: Award Recognition in the Northeast
Artisan Precast has long been recognized as a national leader in the precast concrete barrier field. Recently the company’s excellence earned even more tangible recognition when their work on the New Jersey Route 208 drainage improvement won them a nomination for the 46th annual New Jersey Concrete Awards. The Awards, sponsored jointly by the New Jersey Concrete and Aggregate Association and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Concrete Institute, are presented each year to outstanding New Jersey concrete projects.
The company sets the gold standard for precast barrier solutions, and its quality end-to-end service is available across the United States and abroad. Artisan contracted with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the Route 208 job constructed near Glen Rock, New Jersey. The project called for an attractive screening wall and sound barrier to be erected along the busy route, which connects Route 4 in Fairlawn with the Interstate 287 in Oakland, NJ. For that purpose, Artisan used its trademarked FenceStone walling product, which mimics the authentic look and texture of hand-laid stone. The New Jersey DOT chose 9’ high FenceStone in lovely Mesa Buff color for the Route 208 barrier.
In addition to the barrier, Artisan worked with the New Jersey DOT’s contract engineers to supply them with project-specific shop drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure that the wall met design and safety standards
